Official Bio

Dr. Tim Ihrig (aka Dr. Tim) is a physician, thought leader, and internationally recognized palliative and hospice care expert. He is the CEO of Ihrig MD & Associates and founder of the Inflection Period Coalition—a multidisciplinary initiative investigating the human body’s capacity for healing and the physiological markers of decline. Through this pioneering work, Dr. Tim seeks to reimagine end-of-life care as a process rooted in compassion, dignity, and scientific insight.

His approach has reshaped national care models and influenced health policy. As former Chief Medical Officer for Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care and Medical Director at Unity Point Health’s Trinity Regional Medical Center, his leadership helped generate millions in Medicare savings and earned national honors, including the American Hospital Association’s Circle of Life Award.

Dr. Tim’s TED Talk, What We Can Do to Die Well, has been viewed over 1.6 million times globally and was featured on NPR’s All Things Considered. He is endorsed by the Center to Advance Palliative Care and has served as a national clinician-educator and global health advocate, including working in Tanzania supporting individuals with HIV/AIDS and serious illness.

He holds degrees in molecular biology and medicine from the University of Nebraska and completed his fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Stanford University. Dr. Tim lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he shares life’s adventures with his wife, their three children, and three curious cats.
